4-Inch Square Top Tier?

Has anyone ever done a 4x4-inch tier as the top tier of a cake? I have found 4-inch cake pans, but I have not found any 4-inch SPS plates (or even Wilton plates). If you have done a 4-inch tier tier on top, did you just use regular dowels? TIA!

I have done them several times. I cut my own board out of 1/4" foamcore. I use bubble tea straws for the dowelling. Works fine!

Gardenia cake in my portfolio (just posted this weekend) had a 4" square top tier. Cut the board from a 6" round. Then used bubble tea straws to support.

I did this as well, I don't use SPS at all on any cake, doweling works just fine for me. The pic is in my photos, the 4 tier quinceanera cake - offset square.
