I have made a banana cake with coffee buttercream and chocolate frosting and got a lot of compliments. I have also tried caramel and vanilla mousse...all work well together. Hope this helps, good luck!

I just made a banana cake from MacsMoms recipes and filled it with "cheesecake filling" it was sooooo good! 2 c liquid pastry pride or bettercreme, 1 pk cheesecake pudding mixed with 1/2 c water or milk and 4 oz cream cheese, everyone went gaga over it. If you can't get pastry pride or bettercreme use a cream cheese filling that would taste great with banana too!

Pretty much, and it's goooooood with banana cake. Another option would be a caramel meringue buttercream. I've done that before with banana cake and it was really good.

Cream cheese and cinnamon...We went cake tasting for a friends wedding and they did a banana cake with cinnamon mouse filling ...it was to die for...still have no idea how they made it..but yummy....I think I might be able to reproduce it with Bettercreme, vanilla pudding and cinnamon.
