I will try to post a photo. If not there will be a link. Cakelava makes these gorgeous cakes. I have noticed the painted figures he makes, but can't tell if they are painted onto white chocolate, pastillage, gumpaste/fondant combo or what. They look to me like white chocolate. But I'm hoping that a pro will help me figure this out. What do you think the Mario Bros faces are painted onto?

It is so fascinating. On my next trip to HI (hopefully in this lifetime) I intend on ordering a cake from him just so I can see one in person and eat it too! icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

They look like chocolate transfers to me.

chocolate transfers? As in Whimsical Bakehouse chocolate transfers? Or is there another way I have not read about yet?

Yes, just like the Whimsical Bakehouse. Here's a cake in my pix that I did using them (using the WB instructions.) http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1683887
