I have two cakes due at the end of september that I'm going to need to purchase the cake pans for. Where is the best/cheapest place to purchase pans and supplies?

I would think for the wonder pan you could use a pyrex or stainless bowl.

I've used my Kitchen Aid mixing bowl for a doll cake. I've also just used round pans...stacked & filled. Stick in freezer for a bit and then carve. Use a small pyrex mixing bowl to bake the rounded top in.

I don't know about anyone else, but I usually look online (www.goldaskitchen.com, www.globalsugarart.com are two I've used in the past). I have also purchased when Michael's have their 40% or 50% off coupon. I've noticed Wal-mart sells some Wilton cake pans cheaper than Michael's regular price.

If it's a pan you don't plan on using regularly, you can also contact your local cake supply store to see if they rent pans. The one in my area rents a pan for about $3 a week.

Hope this helps! Good luck with the cake!

That's really cool about renting the pans. I guess my problem is that Wal-Mart is the only supply store in my area, so I shop online or drive a ways to a supply shop.

I got a brand new wonder pan on e-bay, but I really like my pampered chef glass mixing bowl better.

Hobby lobby is cheaper then michaels and joannes at regular price, and every other week they have a printable coupon for 40% off 1 regularly priced item
