Red Bleeding.......

I know this has been talked about before, but I have searched and searched and can't find anything, sooo....

any tips on how to get red to not bleed......

doing a baby shower cake this weekend and the mom is a sports fan so she wants baseballs with red lacing, and red writing on the cake.

Maybe I shouldnt be the one to help with this because I never have problems with red bleeding. Will you using fondant pieces or are you using buttercream? I normally use fondant myself.
For the writing I'd be tempted to write it in white first with a thicker tip, then go over it again with the red and a slightly finer tip? or just use letter cutters but let your fondant pieces dry out a little before you apply them to the cake and dont use too much water to stick them down. I use a clean fingertip, dip it into water and almost just dampen the fondant. It sticks well enough.

nope, my friend wants all buttercreme....thanks for your ideas though!!! hmm i know someone out there knows something =)
