I've made 6 cakes in 2 days and don't have the energy or creativity left for number 7.
I have to take a 1/2 sheet cake to a back to school barbecue, and I haven't a live brain cell left to come up with anything creative.
Any ideas for a back to school cake?
Thanks so much!
I work mostly with buttercream...
looks like a blackboard with one of the following on it:
> NO!!!!!!!!!!! and a sad face
> welcome back
> stick drawing of student giving teacher an apple
> 1st Assignment: Essay on "What I did this summer"

You could do a sheet cake that resembles a desk top with pencils, notebook, and an apple in the corner.
A chocolate-iced sheet cake could be a chalk board on which you write some kind of fun back to school message.
A stack of books.
There's always the old yellow school bus...either 3D or just a piped & outlined picture.
A little red school house.
Sorry I couldn't be more original, but since you're feeling a little caked-out, maybe something basic is good enough. Good luck!
They all sound like good ideas. It's for the teachers. I think I like the 'What I did last summer', Essay.
Thanks a bunch!
Brain fart!
This is what I came up with, thanks again Doug and cakeythings1961

hey, I don't remember posing for the "teacher" drawing.
and that definitely is me (the NO!) when it comes to math.
and I HATE block schedule....
sooooo....
all that adds up to one perfect cake for me!
So, I guess I 'made the grade'?
Thanks for the nice comments. I hate a block schedule too.
I like the 55 minute schedule we're on.
I'm a teacher's assistant in a special education classroom.
