I took advantage of a sale and bought some Fat Daddio's and Magic Line cake pans. Wow, what a difference in feel from my Wilton pans!

Anyway, after reading different posts on preference to pan depth, I went with 3 inches. I couldn't wait to use them and they came in time for my DH's b-day. As I am making the cake I pull out my bake even strips and find it will take 2 stacked on top of each other to cover the side.

Is this what I should do, or is one enough?

To answer questions on how I cook.....

I use 325 oven temperature for a longer period than at 350.
Over 10 inches I also use a flower nail.
I am at 4800 feet in elevation. I have had to adjust for high altitude for some recipes but not all.

Thank you for any advice.

I always use 2 on my three inch pans. I don't know about your elevation. I am from Mo.

I had a couple of 3" pans and when I used them, I only used one strip. I put it in the middle and it worked great.
