can i use regular food colouring for airbrushing a cake or it must to be specific for this job?

Many will say you can ONLY use the commercially made airbrush colors....but I've had my airbrush 30 plus years and have used regular food coloring in quart bottles for years with NO PROBLEM! I get the primary colors in the large bottles and mix some of my own colors. I do get the black and white 'airbrush' colors and some specialty colors. The main thing is to CLEAN your airbrush after each use. Francis Kyper, who taught airbrushing for years, suggested using denture tablets dissolved in warm water as a good cleaner to get rid of any color buildup.
