How do I stack two fondant cakes on top of each other? Do I need to put a board under the top cake?

For every 4" of cake, you need a board and dowels.

If you're going to transport it stacked, you may want a center dowel...sharpen the end of the dowel and drive it through all of the stacked tiers.

I use foamcore between my tiers, and wilton's hollow plastic dowels because they're sturdier than wooden dowels and easier to cut.
