I am making my 1st attempt at making MMF. I made the batch and then put my gel coloring into the mixer as it was just finishing. It came out very sticky and the color was not even. Any suggestions?

Crisco your hands, and surface then turn it out and have at it. you will need more PS b/c the gel color adds liquid to the MMF. Add PS and color until you have the desired consistancy and color.

It's best if you want to color a whole batch to add the coloring to the melted MM's and then mix it up rather than at the end.

I agree, color the melted marshmallows before adding the sugar. You can always add more color after it is all mixed, but this gives you a good base color.
