so last week i made a graduation cake for my sister's class where 3 tiers were all covered in black fondant, I decided to, for the first time, buy the fondant since i could never get my mmf black enough. I got it, satin ice, and it smelled/tasted very yummy then i went on to roll it out and it was so dry! I kneaded shortening into it and it helped some but then after it was on the cake it started to dry out again! i was so frustrated with it does anyone have any idea why this happened? Also this week i made a batch of mmf and i'm having the opposite prob it is so stretchy and it tears and rips very easily when this hasn't happened before icon_sad.gif....sorry this is so long but if anyone has any suggestions on what i can do to improve this i would really really appreciate it....

I bought the black Satin Ice too awhile back for accents on a cake and it was exactly the same... horrible!! I personally think it was just the brand.
