so last week i made a graduation cake for my sister's class where 3 tiers were all covered in black fondant, I decided to, for the first time, buy the fondant since i could never get my mmf black enough. I got it, satin ice, and it smelled/tasted very yummy then i went on to roll it out and it was so dry! I kneaded shortening into it and it helped some but then after it was on the cake it started to dry out again! i was so frustrated with it does anyone have any idea why this happened? Also this week i made a batch of mmf and i'm having the opposite prob it is so stretchy and it tears and rips very easily when this hasn't happened before ....sorry this is so long but if anyone has any suggestions on what i can do to improve this i would really really appreciate it....
I bought the black Satin Ice too awhile back for accents on a cake and it was exactly the same... horrible!! I personally think it was just the brand.
