What is the easiest way to apply crumbs to the top and sides of a red velvet cake?? I just got done crumb coating and now I am letting the 3 layer cake set. I have to have it ready by 6 pm tomorrow so I don't know if I should let it sit overnight before I finish frosting it. I haven't ever done the crumbs on the sides or the top and I need a little advice!!!

Ice cake and before it crust (if it crusts) put crumbs in your hand and gently push into the sides and top of cake. Some will fall off but just keep applying until all covered.

I hold the cake in one hand on a bit of a tilt and crumb with the other but it sounds like it may be to heavy for that. Put it on the edge of a table with a tray of what ever it is you are crumbing with under it. Like the other reply said. Gently press the crumbs onto the cake. You can use a pastry brush to clean off the board when you are finished. Good Luck
