Is that possible? I'm making a carrot cake and want to use cream cheese frosting. I'm afraid that the cream cheese frosting might be too soft for a transfer. Or will buttercream be ok for the transfer if I use cream cheese frosting to frost the cake?

I don't know if cream cheese icing will hold up. You can always pipe and fill in something like a heart and freeze it and see. The two keys is that the icing will get hard when frozen and release off the backing. You can do a simple single color design to try it out so you can reuse the icing.

I wouldn't see how doing one out of regular buttercream would hurt on top of the Cream Cheese. They aren't really that thick so it will just be a little buttercream on top of the cream cheese.
