I have a request for a tiered buttercream cake with fondant "drapes". I've put drapes on a cake covered in fondant...but i'm not sure how the buttercream is going to support the weight of the drape? I've put smaller fondant decorations on buttercream with no fear. But please...how do I do something larger---my fear is the buttercream will slide and not support the drapes. Help?

The request comes from someone who seems VERY particular and I'm scared to even accept the challenge.

I think depending on how large the drapes are, you will be fine. I did drapes on a crusting buttercream and I think it turned out very nice. I had no problems with them sliding off.

If your drapes are kept thin and light, I'd think you would be ok.
