I have this idea in my head for a cake I need make for this Friday. It's a party for a class play that was ocean-themed. I want to make a giant fish (layered sheet, carved to be rounded and shaped like a fish lying down--so, not completely 3-D), and then make a bunch of scale-shaped cutouts with fondant, coat them each with a different color of sugar crystals, and layer them all until the entire fish is covered.

I am looking through the gallery, but there are 126 pages of pics with the word "fish" as a keyword!!! I thought I'd also ask here, in case anyone has done one and can point me directly to some pics.

Thanks!

I found this one done with Neccos. You could easily dust, but don't know how you would get crystals to stick without melting the candy. Maybe corn syrup?
