Advice Needed On Purse Cake

Hi All
I need some advice i am very new to cake decorating and have only done three fondant covered cake's before and i am going to attempt to make a purse cake the Gucci one thats b/w on cc for my nephews girlfriends birthday on Saturday .
I made two 13inch by 10inch sheet cakes and cut them in half then wrapped them in clear wrap and froze them , i did not fill them so i have 4 x6 1/2 by 10 slabs in the freezer now do i torte and fill whilst frozen and then crumb coat leave to set and then start to carve my shape or do i carve then torte then fill i don't know what do icon_sad.gif

I would think that you would carve after you filled them. Would be easier to carve as well. I carved a cake this past weekend and actually filled it and did the crumb coat and then carved it out.. it was much easier to carve. Then I put another crumb coat over the area that was carved and later frosted.

yes, I almost always do. Fill, do crumb coat and then refridgerate.
