you use gumtex or cmc in FONDANT to make it into g/p. Then it will dry faster and harder for flower making , people figurines, etc. people use different amts. you will get different answers. some use 1-2tsp. of gumtex or cmc to a pound of fondant. some use little less , some use a little more. some just add a little at the time to the fondant and work it in really good. hth In the wilton class, you use 1tsp to 12 oz of fondant.

thank you. I would like to use my candy molds for fondant molds and last time I did that, they came out, but pretty mangled in the process cause they were not dried hard enough.

ok I bought something called CAI tylose powder because the gumtex was twice this price as this. This says it contains CMC and dextrin. The lady at the cake store was not 100% sure if this would make my fondant molds out of my candy molds dry better but it specifically says, flowers and showpieces dry remarkably fast so I hope this is the right stuff!
