Does anyone know how long a color flow design lasts, before it starts to break down, on an iced cake? Like on buttercream or maybe a cream cheese icing? Thanks.

I have done color flow for years & when I do it on the waxed paper, I cut around the design leaving the waxed paper on the back of the color flow design. That way, it never touches the icing, can be lifted off the cake & saved. I did my daughter's high school graduation cake using color flow on buttercream. When I removed the color flow pieces, I stored them away & when she graduated from college, four years later, I made an identical cake using the same color flow pieces from her high school graduation cake...I only had to change one of the numbers in the year. Color flow lasts for years & years!!!
