I need some help. I am planning in carving a throne out of a 5" by 4"high cake, this will be set on a 8" round cake for my mothers cake on sunday.
I have read some of the posts about carving
1.- put in freezer for a little time to make it easier to carve
2.-use a med size knife or small to carve
3.-look at the process of carving from different angles
4.-cover in buttercream
5.-cover with fondant and decorate
is there anything else I should know? ![]()
I will be making a figure of my mother sitting on the throne, and maybe figures of us on the bottom cake with some flowers.

I have gone tru 4 Wilton classes and I still have not use any supports, because we did not use it in class, so I am afraid to insert anything in the cakes. I figure if it is a small cake it will not affect too much.
But maybe is time to start, so I will use 4?? of those "dowel" sticks. ![]()
