Can someone explain to me how this works? I have been using wooden dowels for support and they seem to work fine, although these separator plates seem even better. My main concern is that you don't get to drive a dowel through the center of all the cakes. How do you keep them from sliding off one another? Also, do you decorate your cake on the separator plates and then attach them to the pillars?
