Do you make gumpaste characters at all? The party stuff on the link shows spot like undoing the ribbons on a large gift box. Maybe you could make a gift box cake with the characters undoing the ribbons? That would be super cute.

The party hat download has spot in a bday hat with a bunch of gifts. I still think a gift box would be cute with them playing on top. The books I have have the characters hiding/peeking into places to find spot or another character.

It's got lots of little games, pics, etc. that might give you some ideas.
If you click 'Play' to find Spot, it brings up a background pic with hills, trees, and draped party banners. Could you make a blue cake with green hills around the bottom, and the banners draped from the top? Then add the extra characters 'into' the scene by placing them around the cake, and put Spot on top. Hope this makes sense.
