I need to now if I can cover a strawberry short cake in mmf. If not I need to know what else I can use to fill the cake that is similar. The last time I tried this I used sliced strawberries and whipped cream between layers of white cake and covered the cake in fondant to decorate but the whipped cream didn't hold up under the pressure of the cake. When we cut the cake the whipped cream had melted into the cake. My friend wants a strawberry shortcake themed cake both inside and outside. Should I just fill the cake with fresh strawberries and buttercream and then cover it in fondant.

Would appreciate any help.
Thanks CCERS

There's a filling recipe here on CC that might do the trick. It used graham crackers, too, which would help hold it together. Try looking in the recipe section under Strawberry shortcake filling. HTH
