Hi all, with the help of many CC members i have just done my first stacked cake, its a donation to my daughters school to help raise funds. its being delivered in the morning. its not perfect, but im happy with my first attempt. i would appreciate any honest comments. (its the grassy one in my photos) and i want to say a massive thankyou to anyone that has given me advice recently, it wouldnt have happend without you all. i love my CC family!!
just wanted to say it think its very pretty and im loving the garden & butterflies
congrats and well done
Thank you for your kind comments. im still nervous about delivery in the morning. i hope they will like it.
Wow, thankyou for all your wonderful replys. im not so worried about taking it now! and yes the grass is hand painted on-it took forever!
Great job!! That is a really cute cake! Love it! Your fondant isn't perfectly smooth... not that mine ever is. Try trimming the sides of your cake with a very sharp knife after it has settled over night. And remember that smooth buttercream = smooth fondant. Great job!
Mug-a-bug, i will try that on my next one, my crumb coat was not very smooth! i covered the cake twice and had to start again because the fondant kept tearing. but practice makes perfect!
