Making Sugar Sparkle When Molded
Decorating By dchockeyguy Updated 18 Mar 2010 , 3:44pm by MYOM-Dominic
Can you add disco dust to sugar before pouring it in a mold you made to give it a sparkle, or will the disco dust just cloud it? Would it be better to dust the molds with the dust first?
Trevor
Hi Trevor,
It all depends if the disco dust melts at high temperatures. There is a type of disco dust that does not melt and it adds an interesting sparkle to cooked sugar and Isomalt. You can always amke up a small batch of cooked sugar or Isomalt and add it to see if the high temp changes it it any way.
Hope This Helps.
