Hi,
I made a cake for my nephew's bar mitzvah tomorrow. It's an iPod cake and I had such a hard time applying the edible image that DH had to help me and it ended up tearing in 2 places and then was set crooked on the cake. There is no turning back because I do not have a printer and it cost me $15 for the image alone. I was so confident prior to the image issue because my fondant looked beautiful! Oh well.
I don't think this qualifies as a disaster, per se, but I'm still bummed that 50 or so family and friends are going to see my crooked cake.
That's all. I'm off to bed.
Sorry you had trouble, i'm sure it turned out really nice. We are the worst critics for ourselves, probably no one else will notice.
Awww, it can't be that bad! I bet everyone is going to rant and rave over it, because as otrs have already said, we really are our worst critics! The guests will probably be shocked you got a cake to look like an ipod at all! Not your typical thing, eh? We would love to see some pics! CHeer up, and get some sleep. Tomorrow will be WONDERFUL...

I think it looks great! May I ask where you got your image? I had trouble with one online place I was getting them from so I've just been using the grocery store...but the quality from the grocery store has been stinking lately. I just need to find a high quality, reliable place! I used to have a printer but the upkeep was too much and my printer got ruined.
You're nuts my mouth literally fell open when I saw it, that cake is great! The best Ipod cake I've seen!

We are definitely always so hard on ourselves! We seem to notice the littlest imperfections and to us they are disasterous!! (Although I don't even see a tiny imperfection on your awesome cake!!)
I too am interested in where you got your image from. I need a good quality reliable source for images I make in Photo shop and would love your input/advice,assistance. Thanks so much for the info. and chin up, your cake is beautiful!
Here's the finished product. I got lots of compliments on it and my nephew liked (which is the most important thing to me).
That cake is fantastic, I don't think there's a need to be any sort of disappointed. You did a fabulous job!!!
It looks wonderful. I think we are our own worst critics. Everyone else sees a beautiful cake but all we can see are the tiny flaws that no one else notices.
