I found a recipe for banana cookies, but it calls for Kream-it and I have no idea what it is. At first I thought it was butter, but there is buttter in the recipe. So I am guessing it's Shortening, but I can't find any info on it when I do a google search.
Hoping someone here has heard of it.
Thanks!
Where is "kream-it" used in the recipe? Is it listed as an ingredient or in the directions for making the cookies?
it's not called out in the directions either.
Here is the recipe from cooks.com
BANANA COOKIES
Printed from COOKS.COM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. Kream-It
2 eggs, beaten well
1 c. mashed bananas
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. butter
1 tsp. soda
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Cream butter and sugar; add flour and eggs. Add all ingredients and mix. Drop by spoonful onto floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
I ended up using Crisco and the cookies turned out good. Considering I've never made banana cookies or had any, everyone that has tried them likes them. So still not sure what kream-it is. But made it work
