I have had so many requests for directions for the cowboy hat cake I would like to add it to the "How to" or the "Cake project" section. How do I do this? I only have basic directions until I make the cake again ~ then I will make a tutorial for everyone.
Thanx
Debbie
I would like to know the answer as well!! I've gotten several requests for the Turkey and Corn Cob cake! I didn't have any instructions for the turkey cake...just "winged" it (no pun intended) but would be willing to make the cake again and do a step by step sort of thing!! I do have detailed instructions for the corn cob cake! BTW..I love your cowboy hat!!
Whenever I've wanted to add something to the articles section, I just emailed Jackie with the info and she added it.
Click contact us on the upper left hand screen. tell her you'd like to submit an article and what it's about. She'll send you back what all she needs from you.
Can't wait to see the cowboy hat directions. I am making a cake for Habitat for Humanity Auction and the theme just happens to be Western!! I sent the directions for the corn cob cake last week but I don't see them listed yet. Perhaps Jackie had to get permission from the actual author of those directions..I did give her all the info!
mine was just simple directions that i wrote down. I'll demo it on the next one...
waiting for the corn cob directions too!
Debbie

Done!! Instructions have been e-mailed. Yes..I would love the cowboy hat instructions! [email protected] Thank you!
thecakemaker, were you able to get your instructions posted? I want to "try" to make your cowboy hat. I have your written directions but was wondering if you had the tutorial with pics? Do you have any advice on the brim of the hat? And how to form the top of the hat. I don't own a cowboy hat so how would I shape the brim?
Thanks a ton!

I will get them sent in by the end of the week. For the brim - since you don't have a hat to lay the fondant over you can lay it on a piece of shirt box or other sturdy material and use something to prop up the two sides to get the curl. It will take a bit longer to dry if you use something that air can't circulate around. Just make sure that where the cakes are going to sit - the fondant is flat so the weight from the cakes doesn't crack it.

I sent the tutorial in. I'm sure Jackie and Heath will have it up as soon as they have time to get it together!
