I need to make a ladder sturdy enough to support a standing chocolate clay figure. Any suggestions as to what I should make it out of?? I'm stumped
TIA
Jen
Dowel, straws or candy sticks covered in fondant or gumpaste (or mix)??? Not that I have done it before, but that would be the way I would go!
Hi...
I made my ladder out of pastillage (I didn't have anything standing on it) but pastillage is used to make cake drums and support structurtes also... I painted it silver... here is the pic:
Wow - fantastic ladder and cake, Dalis4joe!
What is pastillage??
Hi thanks....
pastillage is sugar with UNFLAVORED GELATIN... IF U need the recipe let me know and I will give it to you.... it dries super quick and it's very sturdy for things like ladders signs (not for flowers though). Pastry chefs use it a lot to display their desserts and sugar sculptures....
Hi.. I sent u the email... also look at this post from another user here... done with pastillage and looks amazing!
