My cakes never seem dense enough to withstand the weight of other stacked cakes plus the fondant. What is the best dense cake out there? Does anyone have a recipe for one that tastes really great?

I use the WASC recipe from this site and it works great for stacked cakes. What kind of support system are you using?

I agree...try the WASC. It is dense and stands up wonderfully.

If your cake isn't dense enough, just add pudding mix to your mixture.

Also, the cake shouldn't be supporting the weight of the other tiers. That's the job of the support system that you will be using.

Good luck.

Thanks for posting that Rylan. I didn't realize that about the pudding. I am just now starting to venture into pudding in my cakes so that was good to know.

BTW...your cakes are absolutely stunning! Wow....!
