I am making a cake for my neices 17th birthday and I will be having sterling silver music notes sticking out of the top. I am going to put them in the cake with straws covering the wire. What gauge wire should I use? They arent very heavy.

TIA

The higher the gauge the thinner the wire. I think 40 is the thinest and 5/0 is the thickest. Im just guessing size 18 is what may work. Thats the size I use when hanging crystals from a cake.
