Yeah I never heard of putting it in the freezer either. I go through my fondant too fast, but I did have a pail of pink satin ice sit around for quite a while! Probably a good six months. It was fine!

I've had no problems with it...

I did microwave it for a bit... My big issue was when smoothing it, it would get streaky and have lighter and darker areas. I didn't care for that at all. Probably just have to work with it more, but I don't have time to experiment these days. I do like the taste of Choco-pan. icon_smile.gif

Ick. I don't like Satin Ice (1) I don't like it's matte finish, makes the cake look too fake (I know... "Huh?"), (2) it dries too hard, (3) tastes like PlayDoh, (4) cracks easily...

I've gotten so used to making MMF under various conditions (heat, humidity...) that it's all I use any more. You can easily color it and flavor it. And it is inexpensive to make!

I don't like it all. I use Jennifer Dontz's semi homemade chocolate fondant. It's easy to work with and very tasty. The recipe is on her DVD.

I also use Jennifer Dontz's semi homemade chocolate fondant using FondX. It is the best tasting fondant I've ever worked so far. I get my FondX in wholesale prices from Cal Java.

I have used the red a couple of times. I too find that it dries very quickly. When using it on a cake it also cracks on me. For flowers it is ok but it seems to be just as fragile as straight gumpaste. Maybe it's just me but I would rather use MMF for a cake and a mix of MMF and GP for flowers.
