I want to make an 7 inch cake ontop of a 10 inch but they don't make 7 inch plastic plates..Can I place it on a 6 inch or will the cake crumble that hangs over the edge?

use the 6 inch plate and if you are worried about the edges use a cardboard to fit the cake on top of the plate.
