I found this free online e-book and was perusing the ideas in it, when I came across this cake:
http://www.orchardicing.com/about/orchardicingrecipe.pdf
It's the Cat and Mice Table cake. It says under the title it's a
slightly naughty
cake. Am I missing something here? ![]()
I wonder if it was translated from another language? It's amazing what gets screwed up when translating! Have you ever gone on engrish.com? Talk about hilarious!!
But, yeah, I don't see the "naughty" either. Not even slightly ![]()
Oh my goodness, that is SO offensive! I can't believe they even allow that sort of smut on the internet.
OK, I'm joking. Looks perfectly innocent to me! ![]()
Thanks, guys. I'm glad it's not just me. It's not that I really wanted to see something naughty, I was just worried that I missed the joke. (I'm not always good at catching sarcasm, either.
) I'll have to check out that "engrish" site, sugarjones!
You may be on to something, JanJess! That naughty kitty!
Could it be that the cat is "naughty" because he's going to get those mice??
That's what I was thinking, too. That's the only thing I could think of that would be "naughty."
I think we're too used to the term 'naughty' referring to sexual here on CC with our "naughty cakes" category.
But I think Janjess has it right when she sees the more general usage of the word naughty depicted here in that the cat is "slightly naughty" in that it may be about to hunt down, capture, kill and eat those mice. Not exactly gleeful birthday subject matter.
Hey sugarjones, thanks, I've just spent the last half hour on engrish.com, laughing til I couldn't breathe and my face is hurting ![]()
I must have missed it because the link is broken now. Oh well... ![]()
I got the "link is broken" message also.
It didn't surprise me that the descriptions on the Orchard Icing site were a bit weird - they make the WORST fondant ever.
