Personally, I think that's a beautiful cake.
The flowers are definitely gumpaste but I believe the bands are wired ribbon and the beads are plastic. The beads are stringed and are way too metallic to be painted with luster/highlighter dusts.
Her dress is GORGEOUS!!

I actually like this cake...I'm usually not a fan of the unnecessarily huge cake, but I do like it. Maybe I'm in a shiny mood today. 
I didn't notice the pearls falling off of it,though, that's too bad.
