R/i And Humid Weather???
Decorating By drowninginfondant Updated 19 Dec 2009 , 7:59pm by drowninginfondant
I have a cake due today decorated with large royal icing gerber daisies. It is raining like crazy. Can anyone tell me how the weather can affect Royal Icing and what I can do to prevent a disaster. Every other cake that I've delivered in this kind of weather I had trouble with but they were mostly made with fondant, 3d and were pretty complex. TIA.
I don't have an answer other than to tell you that yes, humidity will affect RI. Hopefully someone will have a counteract measure for you!
I just took the class with RI flowers and it was raining, our instructor made sure that we knew if rain got on them they would be ruined.

Throw a thin, large sheet of plastic over the cake and you should be o.k.
Part of the results will depend on how well the flowers dried already.
Did it stop raining before delivery time?? - like maybe??
the rain stopped before delivery although it was still mist in the air. All turned out great. Thanks again.
