I have a friend whose childrens school is doing a fundraiser for a child that passed away. My dilemma is I offered to make something for the sale, what do I make ? Should I stick with the good old standby of cupcakes ? Or do I make something fancier ? Thanks ! [/img]

I'd say that depends on the purpose of the donation. If it's for a bake sale, yes...stick with time honored and loved standards such as cupcakes, etc.

If it is for a cake auction...make something fancy!

I made for my daughters school carnival to auction off a pencil cake. stuck with the school theme. I would find out what the child loved and do something like that, whether it be on cupcakes or on a cake. Whatever it is will be special and help raise money for that family and no matter what, they will be thankful. good luck and let us know what you end up doing.
