If I am laying a 9" w/ no layers on top of a sheet cake, would I need to dowel the 9" for support or is it light enough not to??
If you are talking a single-layer 9", then no. You should be fine without support.If, however, you are talking a standard double-layer/4" high cake, then I always say "better safe than sorry!" - dowel that sucker!
