Hi i have never had this problem as here in the uk most cakes are covered in fondant and its the 'norm' and bc is different lol my dd sits waiting for the of cuts from the cakes x
My two year old son is a fondant addict too. Begs for it, sneaks it when I'm not looking, sometimes even right in front of me. Last Bday cake I made had to go without lettering because some went "missing"! At least I know what's in the homemade stuff(yeah, I know just what toddler's need, sugar on top of sugar!). OP, don't expect too much from families, especially mother's. I think they (some at least)have a pathological need to devalue or put down our kitchen efforts. I made my first pecan pie over Thanksgiving(it was even chocolate pecan) and everyone RAVED over it, except my mother, a legendary choco-holic, she claimed it was too rich and she was ill all night. What can you do? Just smile and take it with a grain of salt, double martini![]()
