I am needing further clarification on the cake mix extender recipe:
Is that to be used for ONE mix? Then how far does it extend it?
If I am making two mixes, do I use the same extender recipe, or double it?
I guess the question is, how is it used? What circumstances, to how many mixes, etc.
Thanks again gals!
It is for one cake mix. It is about like a cake and a half. I like to use it to make thicker cakes than one cake mix would make. If I am making two mixes I just double the extender recipe and then it's like have 3 mixes. The extender also makes your cake a little more dense. I love the texture of cake made with the extender I use it almost always with all my cakes.
Auzzi's cake mix extender recipe gives you 6 1/2 cup batter approximately when used with a Duncan Hine's white or yellow cake mix, the amount varies a bit with every mix.
You use this when you need a little more than what a mix makes and it also makes for a more stable, more dense cake, in my opinion.
Haven't used the one on the site that uses yogurt, I believe?
