I have been asked to do a square wedding cake, 8x8, 6x6, and 4x4. They do not make 4 inch separator plates, that I can find. For those of you who have done this please share any tips. Did you cake on a cut and covered 4x4 square board? Did you dowel? Thanks for any help. They are picking the cake up so I will not be setting up.

If you want that cake to be intact you need to dowel. It is pretty light, a 4x4 cake, but it still needs support. And I use foam core, so same idea as a cut board. And I use bubble tea straws with things that small.
