A friend asked for a cake made with applesauce instead of oil. All I can find is a snack cake in the recipe section.

Can anyone share a recipe with me please?
Please don't reply with, " just substitute applesauce for oil". icon_smile.gif
I'd like to be able to stack and layer this cake.

Homemade perferred, but I'll settle for mix.

Thank you.

Just sub applesauce for oil..... no seriously! I do this with all my cakes and it makes them super moist. No need for sour cream. You can still stack and carve them. Good luck.

I've heard this is possible, but only tried it with pumpkin muffins (it worked great). Will it make other flavors taste like applesauce? With pumpkin, I wasn't worried about that, and it wasn't noticeable at all, but what about with a yellow cake, or chocolate??

I have done this lots of times when I didn't have any oil on hand with great results.
