Hi, making spongebob squarepants pineapple am thinking of using rice krispy treats. After making the rice krispy and molding it into the shape you want what do you cover it with before you cover it with fondant. I tried it before and all the bumps from the rice krispy showed through

I cover mine in a layer of white chocolate or almond bark (the bark is cheaper). It fills in the bumps and holes and makes the rkt more stable.
After that I just do fondant w/ no bc.

I can't decide between doing the pineapple in rkt or cake. Also trying to figure out how to attach the pineapple leafs to the top, any suggestions

I'd use RKT if it's just a topper. You could make the leaves out of fondant/gumpaste and attach with melted candy melts. Good luck!
