I use SMBC frequently and cant get my Wilton gel colors to incorporate very well. So I am going to get Americolor Candy colors. They are a little expensive (I am getting them from Global Sugar Art), which colors will be the most versatile and can I mix to make a variety of colors?

I would say the primary colors (red, blue, yellow). You can basically get different colors from it.
