Yesterday my sister made a poke cake for a little get together and it was soooo delicious. She just put cool whip on top.
I started to wonder, has anyone used poke cakes under their buttercream or fondant? If yes, is it stable enough to withstand the weight of these types of applications?
The type of poke cake she made she used cherry jello in vanilla cake..delish!

Yes it is stable enough - even more stable than just a plain cake as the jello 'tightens' it somewhat icon_smile.gif

Grrrrrreat! I just loved the added flavor the jello gave the cake and it looked pretty too. This may just be a nice option for those who don't want a torted cake but want the added moisture.

Thanks for your help.
