I've been asked to make a Halloween cake for a friend but im slightly puzzled as to how I get the shape of the cake.

Ive never tried carving a cake before so i'm not sure if it will look ok after I've butchered one!

Any ideas?

Thank you!

I think I would use the Wilton sports ball pan for the cauldron. Then just slice a bit off the bottom to stand on, and a bit off the top to make it look level. After icing, I would pipe a ring of buttercream (or a fondant rope) around the top for the top of the cauldron, and fill inside it with 'potion'. HTH
