Trace it onto some acetate plastic, cut the design out, press it against the fondant and paint it in.

There is a template in the gallery. I copy it onto a maylay (I believe that's how it's spelt), and use my airbrush to apply color. On one occasion I used the cans of Wilton colors.

I used the template in the gallery to look at but freehanded it on the cake.
