I would love to make a cake similar to this. What do you think the middle and top are made of?

It is from another cake decorator in town. What is the etiquette of doing one similar?

Are you sure the top is edible? I'm thinking it's a man-made "topper", maybe of styrofoam for the head...not sure of the spring. I can't imagine what the spring would be if it was edible..the only thing that comes to mind is RKT covered in fondant, but it really doesn't look like it.

I guess I could call the decorator to find out how they made it but that would be REALLY tacky.
