I am making a cake for my mother-in-law. She LOVES chocolate, so I am doing my special chocolate cake into a candy barrel for her. I have a great chocolate cake that I use, but I have never made chocolate icing before. What is your favourite chocolate icing recipe? It needs to be 'strong' enough to hold the kit kat pieces to the side of the cake.

Do you have a favorite buttercream? You can often just add melted chocolate or cocoa powder to your regular buttercream with a little additional icing. This is what I do, and it is yummy.

You could also try ganache.
