I've read threads in which CC'ers have done an experiment and pulled cakes out of their freezer 10 months later, presented it to family/friends as part of a taste test, and they couldn't tell the difference.

The key is making sure it's wrapped, frozen and thawed properly.

OK, so I've wrapped my cake in plastic wrap, then foil. Now I want to decorate it. Do I decorate (BC and decoration) frozen or totally thawed? Do I tort the cake before freezing or after thawed?
