my kid's PTA just cornered me TODAY & asked me to make 100 iced cookies for the schools Stone Soup Night NEXT WEEK. they are going to sell them to raise money for the PTA. which i am all for & don't mind getting our name out there either but i am stumped. what can i do for stone soup??? stones are too boring. veggies? bowl of soup?? if i can't think of anything i will make teddy bears which is the school's mascot but i was hoping to go a little more creative.

any ideas or tips would be much appreciated.

THANKS!! icon_redface.gif

Welcome to Cake Central! Can you tell me what Stone soup is? I have never heard of it. I think the bears with the school initials would be cute, especially done in the school colors.

Maybe someone else can help.

Cindy

THANKS!!
Stone soup is a children's book about working together to make soup. The school makes a big pot of soup & the 3rd graders put on a play.

Thanks for the help. icon_surprised.gif)

could you do one of the illustrations from the book??
or you could do soup spoons with chocolate pebbles in the spoon part...

Yes, what Jillchap suggested!

I was going to say to do wooden soup spoons or ladel. You can actually cheat and stick on 3 Jelly Belly jelly beans. The toasted coconut flavoured ones are speckled brown/white like little rocks! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I have to agree...soup spoons with 'stones'.
The soup winds up having all sorts of things in it besides the stone that starts it all. Maybe put an icing leaf (from a cabbage) or a carrot slice to hold the pebble on?

THANK YOU everyone. I would love to do the spoons. I will see what I can come up with. They are due Tuesday morning so I have a busy weekend ahead of me.

Thanks again! icon_smile.gif

Spoons with stones sounds really cool.
My kids are in the "chick" room @ school, so I did lots of little chicks and placed them in a chocolate'egg'. Maybe you could do the spoons and place them in a large chocolate bowl or cauldron for effect.

You could also do a Campbell's soup can in red & white with the centre gold seal...then "Stone" written as the flavour at the bottom. It would be cute, but kids probably wouldn't "get it" as easily as the spoons mentioned earlier.
